About us

Oriel Môn is a purpose-built museum and art gallery in Llangefni, Anglesey.

The museum tells the story of Anglesey over thousands of years.

The art gallery showcases contemporary artists and makers and Oriel Kyffin offers exhibitions of national and international significance.

Our aims are to:

  • engage visitors with inspiring collections and exhibitions on their doorstep
  • create a flagship attraction that defines an island and its people
  • offer a shared social space with exciting opportunities for participation
  • develop a resilient, sustainable and innovative centre for excellence

Oriel Môn is governed and managed by the Isle of Anglesey County Council. It is part of the Learning Department.

Oriel Môn conforms to and contributes to Isle of Anglesey County Council’s policies and strategies as well as national strategies and legal documents such as The Wellbeing Act.

Oriel Môn is a Fully Accredited Museum (no.156) and is part of a large network of museums including the Federation of Museums and Galleries of Wales, the Museum Association, Association of Independent Museums and the Association of Cultural Enterprises.

Oriel Môn is supported by the Oriel Môn Trust and works closely with The Kyffin Williams Trust.
