I came to live in North Wales almost thirteen years ago, after a career in teaching.

I enjoy the challenges of working across different media, exploring their possibilities and limitations. Colour, pattern and shape are elements which dominate my work and excite my curiosity.

I usually start from a vague idea, which becomes more crystalised as the work progresses from a drawing into a print, batik or stitched piece.

My lino prints follow the reducing block technique, in which I work from light to darker tones, re cutting and printing numerous times. I try not to reprint any order or combination of colour which ensures that each finished print is an original.

The Batiks involve drawing onto cotton fabric with hot wax, then painting using coloured dyes.

This process may be repeated several times, building up shapes and tones until the composition is complete.
