Landscape painting of fields and mountains
15 June - 28 July

Rob Piercy

Photographers have a distinct advantage over the landscape painter when it comes to capturing the moment, the spirit of a place.

Style

Traditional Representational

Media

Oil, Watercolour, Drawing

To be able to spot, compose and create a piece of artwork in a matter of minutes, or less, is a wonderful luxury.

The painter on the other hand has to often work with second hand material which can dilute the spirit of the place. The mark of a good landscape painter is someone who can not only reciprocate that moment which the photographer has captured but to enhance it to something which can surpass a mere photograph.
