Biography
Liz Toole is a printmaker and painter with a genuine love of birds.
Liz uses birds and life experiences to tell a story.
The screenprints and linocuts are designed, and hand printed using specialist printmaking papers and inks. Colour plays a huge part in her work, and she has been known to test print 60 colour combinations for a two colour screenprint, waiting for that eureka moment.
Her love of printmaking is due to the fact she is continually learning, keeping her work exciting and fresh, she also hand prints a range of greetings cards and Eco friendly note/sketchbooks.
Liz is also a painter and now collects her wood mainly along the Welsh coast, she loves how the pieces of wood create a sense of history and character for her birds. She was inspired to paint on wood by a group of native artists she met whilst living in Africa, they were called The Weya Women.
You can find Liz taking part in the annual Anglesey Open Studios, she invites visitors to watch her demonstrations of printmaking and talk about birds, printmaking and Anglesey.
