Excursion

Join us for an afternoon walk from Benllech to Pant y Saer Cromlech, followed by artefacts and a panad at Oriel Môn.

Location

Benllech / Oriel Môn

This short afternoon walk, organized by The Anglesey Antiquarian Society and Oriel Môn, starts at 1:00pm at Benllech Library. The route takes us to Pant y Saer Cromlech, and after a brief overview of the site by archaeologist Frances Lynch, we’ll go and see the nearby hut circle settlement.

We will then return to Oriel Môn where we’ll enjoy a panad and have a close look at some of the original artefacts recovered from the sites.

Meeting Place: Benllech Library (behind the Co-Op shop on the main road from Sgwar Benllech to Porthaethwy/Menai Bridge. LL74 8TF)

A walk of about 1 mile on fairly even ground in order to visit the Pant y Saer site followed by a drive to Oriel Môn in order to see the treasures discovered on the site. Remember to wear sensible footwear to avoid any slips or falls as we cross the fields.

Free for Antiquarian members, for non-members a small donation at Oriel Môn would be welcome.
