18 February to 8 June
Invented 2000 years ago in China, paper is the most widely used of all artists materials, be it handmade or machine made. Paper can be moulded, folded, fired in a kiln, drawn and painted on, and can be subjected to enormous pressure when rolled through a printing press. This exhibition showcases the work of a variety of artists including painters, printmakers, machine embroiderers, sculptors and potters. The artwork shown is testimony to the versatility and the multi purpose use of paper.
