Successful Exhibition Opening for Gerda Roper at Oriel Môn

A large and enthusiastic crowd gathered at Oriel Môn on the afternoon of September 20 to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition by artist Gerda Roper – Dance to the Music of Time.

The exhibition was officially opened by Rhun ap Iorwerth MS, who praised Gerda’s work for its bold use of colour and the strong emotions it conveys. In his speech, Rhun highlighted the importance of supporting the arts in Anglesey and commended Oriel Môn for continuing to provide a platform for artists of Gerda’s calibre.

Gerda Roper, whose career has spanned several decades, spoke warmly about her connection to Wales, her artistic inspirations, and her gratitude for the support shown by both the gallery and the community.

The exhibition showcases a striking collection of Gerda’s recent works alongside selected pieces from earlier in her career, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the evolution of her artistic voice.

Visitor Experience Manager, Nicola Gibson commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the response to Gerda’s work. It’s wonderful to see so many people engaging with the exhibition, and we’re proud to host such an accomplished artist.”

The exhibition will run at Oriel Môn until 2/11/25 and all are welcome.
